Freeman Godo, 8, is from a small farming village in Adaklu District of the Volta Region. Kekeli staff met freeman 2 years ago when forming a parents group for parents of children with intellectual disabilities. Freeman’s father neglected freeman’s medical needs since he was born. Freeman is unable to walk and doesn’t attend school due to complications from spina bifida. Freemans mother tried to help her son by getting him health insurance when he was born. But the clinic she went to was unable to help and they were referred to another hospital. The cost of transportation prevented her from talking him to the nearest hospital more than a 1 hour away. Kekeli Ghana has assisted them in going to the Neurosurgeon and orthopedic surgeon at Korle-bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. In total Freeman will need three surgeries.

Hello Olivia – so happy to see your picture finally. I’m a friend of your grandma, Kadea. She’s let us all know about your goal, your trips, and I’m so moved. I’m working at a start-up around Sacramento called Kamere (as in come-here) for inspiration. We put out daily inspiration, positivity, uplifting stories, videos, quotes, etc. I’m doing a piece on you and The Patience Project and would like your approval to use one (or more) of your photos. Would that be ok? Please check us out to see the jest http://www.kamere.com
Your an incredible young woman and I want to share your story.
    Thanks,
    Judy King
